Richard Veenstra is a freelance composer and music producer for media, film, live events, pop productions and art installations. He is based in Berlin, Germany.
Richard works as a producer and remixer for bands and artists with production duo Sonic Me and is co-owner of creative production team the lime machine. Besides composing, Richard writes about music and technology for printed magazines.
Being mainly an electronic composer, Richard has written autonomous pieces as well as pieces on assignment. Works include the musical direction and compositions for the 2006 and 2007 edition of the Nederlandse Dansdagen (Dutch Dance Festival), soundtracks for films and commercials, audiovisual art installations, electronic works and remixes for artists like Robert Babicz, Heartsrevolution and Moke.
Richard writes for Dutch musician’s magazine Interface and Apple-magazine MacFan, does live performances and is connected to a large network of musicians, video artists, directors, producers, motion graphic designers and web professionals.
As a guest teacher, Richard has given lectures and workshops about the use of electronics in live music situations at music academies in the Netherlands.
